We have a regular payment to our French bank account but last month I noticed tht the rate quoted was considerably lower than Western Union. This month I check when CD emailed me as to what rate they had used once again 4 cents below Western Union. I emailed on Friday to ask why and to say that if that was the best rate they could offer we would be going with Western Union in future. I had an email on Saturday to say I would be contacted on Monday morning to discus - guess what no call. I emailed again on Tuesday to be told that Jeremy would contact me on Wednesday morning - well it is now Thursday evening and no contact has been made. We have been dealing with Currencies Direct for about 15 years so it really does show just how bothered they are by their clients. July it will be Western Union and it should be in our bank within 2 days which is also an improvement on what Currencies Direct manage.

This was my first large international money transfer and everything went fine. Jade Bailey helped me set up the account and was very helpful throughout the process. The online calculator was useful for getting estimates, but it was also good to phone up to negotiate a better rate after getting quotes from other brokers. Generally I found I could get straight through. Also got some amazon vouchers as a bonus for clicking through Deduction of 1* is because there was an issue with the online system at some point that was a bit worrying (the transfer amount didn't tally with the number I entered, suggesting a deficit on my payment), but I 'phoned in and Jade sorted it out no problem.
